Love Soldier – Why did you have to part?

LOVE SOLDIER by Penelope Gamble

In the army of life, young soldiers stand tall

They shine with love and compassion

Their sway is real they know the mighty don’t fall

Love Soldier wears trends in fashion,

Born in a family of love and pride this soldier knew they cared

So many times his heart was full with all the things they shared

Because Love Soldier was a free young black man

He could walk with his head held high

With thoughts of a girl who shared his heart

The last thing on his mind was to die

So full of life was he with so much more to give

Till the fateful time a stranger stepped up

Finally today some relief shines through. Does it shine through all the barriers we keep, special treatment for this and non treatment for that. How color rules the day amazes some to say racism still festers in the crevasses of the soul of America. Home of the free and the brave on paper. Our consciousness is put to the test when media splashes color, remember Willie Horton, or the darken images of Orenthal. We mask the dreams of the America to be with cloaks of unjust humanity.

Trayvon Martin’s steps and stand must reorder our demand for the collective consciousness to rise above the whistle of E. Till, or the calculated quiet of the bullet for Medgar. Martin Jr. knew his commitment would cause a stir but still he sat, marched and spoke his dream. Until we believe we are one we flush the rush of love consciousness that harkens at the cusp of all our memories. Just below the ego so bright that wanes in some minds as their might.

The gun gave this man courage to follow the leader and end his earth bound journey yet little did he know that his act would create LOVE SOLDIER’S to the rally to the front of PEACE, JUSTICE and FIGHT.

Just another soul gone too soon in our eyes, through centuries of unjust order, strained and pulled into sleeping slumber of earthbound people. Ol’ the nurturing souls that have endured brutal assaults to lift this generation to our rightful place standing for the LOVE that begins to build our planet up, higher than we’ve ever been before. If we don’t LOVE we will not live. The planet demands our higher selves to enlighten our way, NOW!
